Mind the Rule | A Two Pour Spirits Cocktail

S1 E5 | Mind the Rule

St. Basil of Caesarea was one bad dude. So was his sister, Monica. And his brother, Gregory. Look them up. (They will inspire you to get your life together.) Basil wrote a Rule for monks that was deeply informed by a divine sense of dignity. Dignity for God expressed through obedience; dignity for our neighbor expressed through communal work; and dignity for ourselves through prayer. We could use more dignity in our day and age. And more of this drink.

It’s called “Mind the Rule” because everyone has a rule of life, and it’s spelled out for us in what we contemplate, imagine, and fantasize about. What’s your rule? Assembled in Season One, Episode Five, entitled, “Be Mindful of Dignity.” You can listen to that episode here.

Enjoy the order that the Lord has made. And spend more time on Saturdays cleaning your messy house. Happy Nightcappin’, Neighbor! 🥃 • 💬
