How to Be a More Hopeful Neighbor: Drink More Beer (Part 1)
Kyle David Bennett and Christopher Cimorelli

As the ancient Israelites advanced toward Canaan, during the latter phase of the exodus, be'er (בְּאֵר) served as a pivotal staging point where the people rested and received divine provision. “From there they went to Beer, the well where the LORD said to Moses, ‘Gather the people together so that I may give them water’” (Numbers 21:16). Did you know that "beer" means "well?" Well, well, well.

In this tenth episode of season four, Chris and Kyle do an excast and interview Marty Tomszak, Lecturer of Religious Studies at Valparaiso University. They talk beer and hospitality, how monastic practices can make us better parents, and how being in a foreign land can inform our sense of stewardship. It's a juicy convo, so make sure you have a few paper towels at hand.
