A Prayer for Enemies

Heaven Fatherly, we come before You to pray for our enemies. We pray for those who deny You as Creator. Those who abuse your creation. Those who exploit your creatures. Those who reject their creatureliness. 

We pray against the atheist and satanist. We pray against the hedonist and the utilitarian. We pray against the abortionist and the misanthrope. We pray against the anti-aging advocates and the anti-death activists. 

We pray against those who pretend to be Your friends but defend errors. Those who subvert Your teaching and are indifferent toward your ordinances. Those who persecute Your Church and denigrate Your Kingdom.

We pray against:

The serpent who manipulates Your words.

The Adversary who tests Your righteous ones.

The red dragon who wages war on Your Church.  

The world who scorns Your Son.

The heathen nations who rage against You. 

The flesh that reaps destruction on Your design. 

And our hearts of stone that rebel against You. 

We pray against murderers, deceivers, hypocrites, and the self-righteous. We pray against every principle and principality that seeks to rival You and all demons and doctrines that oppose You. We pray against the Devil, the world, and the flesh.

May they tremble with fear. May they lick the dust. May they be put to shame. May they find blessing in having their hips dislocated. May they embrace justice through the sword. May they be redeemed through having their child set against them.

Melt the idols in their back pockets. Embarrass their gods with drought. Make every and all opposition Your footstool. If need be, put Your foot on their neck until their tongues confess You as Lord, as every tongue shall one day do.

May they come to see Your might and accept Your ways like Rahab. May they come to call out to You like mariners leaving Joppa. May they be radically converted like Saul. May they recognize their guilt like Judas. 

We pray that they will see the light before they are cast into outer darkness. That they will come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ before they are tormented by eternity. For Your honor, and their salvation, we pray, Amen.
